Private Preview guidance

These docs are for the first customers using App Service Builder Private Preview. Access is limited to invited customers; this is not an announcement of Public Preview availability. Use the service for development and test workloads. Do not deploy production workloads. Preview has no financially backed service-level agreement (SLA); features and availability may change or be discontinued. Use test data and dependencies that are appropriate for an experimental environment.

Use of the preview is subject to the Supplemental Terms of Use for Microsoft Azure Previews. The development/test restriction is App Service Builder guidance in addition to those terms.

Access and availability

Open the App Service Builder Portal with your authorized Azure account. Use a subscription enabled for Private Preview and an available region. For CLI use, download the published portable archive using CLI installation. Obtain preview access and connection settings from your preview contact. Add the separate .NET runtime only if you use local manifest commands. Reading these docs does not grant access. Use the Portal quickstart or the Builder CLI quickstart once your access is set up. The Copilot canvas is downloadable for a compatible canvas-enabled host. Its local-first installation does not grant service access or qualify cloud deployment; use disposable development/test projects. See feature availability and preview plans for current workflows, setup prerequisites, limitations, and work that is not ready for use.

Before deploying

Review cost, quotas and limits, and security guidance. Confirm the required runtime and integrations on the selected preview target. Source validation, a local sample run, and successful resource creation are distinct from successful deployment and verification of the running app.

Report a problem

Use logging and monitoring and troubleshooting to identify the failing stage.

During Private Preview, reach out to the App Service Builder contacts you have already been working with for setup, usage, or troubleshooting help. Share a sanitized description of the problem and what you have tried. Do not send credentials, sensitive variable values, or customer data.

When Public Preview begins, support will follow the standard Azure support and escalation procedures. That future support path is not yet the support process for this Private Preview.

Share feedback

Use microsoft/azure-app-service-builder to share product feedback, request a feature, or report a reproducible bug. Search existing issues before opening a new one. The Portal does not provide an in-app feedback form.

GitHub issues and comments are public and associated with your GitHub account. Do not include personal information, subscription or resource IDs, credentials, customer data, or confidential diagnostics. For setup, usage, or troubleshooting help, check support availability above. Report suspected vulnerabilities through the repository's private security-reporting guidance, not public issues.
